Stop Ahead Symbol Sign (W3-1A)

The Stop Ahead Symbol is a newer style of sign that utilizes a Stop sign symbol and should be used when replacing all old style signs that only featured text. This sign should be placed in advance of Stop signs where the view of the stop sign is obstructed in some way or in areas where accidents are likely to occur. This sign serves as a an additional warning to drivers that it is time to SLOW DOWN ahead of the upcoming intersection. The red and white reflective stop sign symbol contrasts the reflective yellow background making it easily visible to motorists.
