New to our inventory is the Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon (RRFB). Designed to provide a highly visible, strobe-like warning to drivers, RRFBs are essential to keep pedestrians safe when using the crosswalk. Here’s why our RRFBs are the best for pedestrian crossings in America.

Improve Pedestrian Safety

RRFBs are used to supplement warning signs at some intersections and mid-block pedestrian crossings. The irregular flash pattern is similar to emergency flashers on police vehicles and is therefore effective at catching drivers' attention. Jurisdictions that have tested RRFBs have found that they increase motorist compliance to a much higher percentage than crosswalks without beacons or standard flashing beacons.

Versatile and Effective

RRFBs are placed on both sides of the crosswalk, below the yellow and black pedestrian crossing sign and above the arrow which points at the crossing. Measuring 3.5 inches high, 20 inches wide and 3 inches in diameter, choose from single-sided or back-to-back installation. A lockable control cabinet is included. Our Flashing LED W11-2 Pedestrian Crossing Sign is ideal to use with our RRFBs since it has eight flashing LEDs for even better visibility.

MUTCD Compliant

Our Rectangular Rapid Flash beacons comply with sections 2A.07 and 2A.08 of the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD). Published by the Federal Highway Administration, the MUTCD defines the standards for traffic control devices on US roads.

Sections 2A.07 and 2A.08 are the requirements for sign illumination; they specify which parts of a sign must be retroreflective or illuminated by both day and night, how signs must be illuminated, regulations surrounding LEDs and flashing LED units, and standards for maintaining minimum retroreflectivity. With our RRFBs, you get a fully compliant device that offers maximum illumination.

Solar Powered

A 20-watt solar panel and 12v/22 AH battery are included with the beacon. This means you can expect over 100,000 hours of operation from the LEDs. The beacons themselves are quick to install. You will also find that replacing the battery and the LEDs is no problem at all. Push Button Options

Choose from four different options depending on whether you want a Standard Button, which is pushed by pedestrians to activate the beacon when they want to cross, or the Deluxe Confirmation Button, which includes the 5 X 7-inch sign and provides pedestrians with an audible tone when it’s safe to cross.

Also available is our Flashing LED R1-1 Stop Sign, which features eight flashing LEDs to alert motorists. Made from heavy duty 0.80 rust-free aluminum and with type IX diamond grade reflective sheeting, the free shipping we offer with this product makes it a must-have.
